Advocacy

Child Advocacy is facilitated by a Child advocate who familiarizes the child victim with the forensic interview, the investigation of the alleged abuse, treatment and services available to the child and the non-offending family, and the trial process.

For example, the Child Advocate, the child and his/her non-offending family participate in a mock trail before appearing at the real trial.

This is done to alleviate fears a child may have prior to the court date.
